Privacy policy

In short: this website sets no cookies, uses no tracking, no analytics tools and loads nothing from third-party servers. The only data involved is the technically necessary access data at the hosting provider.

This is a courtesy translation. The German version (Datenschutzerklärung) is legally binding.

2. Basic information about this website

sayfely.com is a static website. We use

  • no cookies; at most, your device stores which language you picked at the top of the page (see below) – which is why there is no cookie banner,
  • no analytics or tracking tools, no advertising or social media plugins,
  • no external content: fonts, images and scripts are loaded exclusively from our own web space; there is no connection to content delivery networks or third-party font services,
  • no contact forms and no user accounts.

Two small scripts run only in your browser: one closes the menu on small screens, the other shows the site in your browser's language (German or English) on your first visit. If you pick "DE" or "EN" at the top yourself, your browser remembers that choice in its local storage (entry sayfely.lang with the value "de" or "en"). The entry never leaves your device, is not sent to us and contains no personal data. It is strictly necessary for the language choice you asked for (Section 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete it at any time in your browser settings ("Remove website data").

3. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. When the website is accessed – including when downloading files such as Sayfely Server – the hosting provider’s web server automatically processes information transmitted by your browser. This is:

  • the IP address of the requesting device,
  • date and time of access,
  • the page or file accessed, the amount of data transferred and the HTTP status code,
  • the previously visited page (referrer), if transmitted,
  • browser type and version as well as operating system (user agent).

Purpose: delivering the website, ensuring operation and stability, and detecting and defending against attacks and misuse.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in providing the website in a technically error-free and secure manner. Insofar as information on your device is accessed in the process, this is strictly necessary pursuant to § 25 (2) no. 2 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG).

Retention period: IONOS stores the log files only as long as necessary for operation and security and deletes them afterwards. We do not analyze the log files for marketing or profiling purposes and do not combine them with other data.

Data processing agreement: a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with IONOS.

Hosting provider statistics: No visitor statistics of the hosting provider are enabled.

4. Encrypted connection

This website is delivered exclusively via HTTPS. The transmission between your browser and the server is therefore encrypted.

5. Contact by email

If you write to us by email, we process your email address, your name (if provided) and the content of your message in order to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR insofar as a contract or its initiation is concerned (e.g. a license inquiry), and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering inquiries). We delete the data as soon as it is no longer required and no statutory retention obligations (e.g. under commercial or tax law) apply.

Our emails are hosted by IONOS SE (address above) as a processor pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

6. The products Sayfely and Sayfely Server

This policy covers only the website. The Sayfely apps and Sayfely Server run at the respective company on its own devices. They do not transmit any usage, content or telemetry data to us. The controller for the processing of personal data in a Sayfely installation is the organization that operates the server.

7. Recipients and transfers to third countries

Your data is not passed on to third parties, except to our hosting provider as part of the data processing agreement or where we are legally obliged to do so. No transfer to countries outside the EU or the EEA is intended.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to

  • access to the data stored about you (Art. 15),
  • rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16),
  • erasure (Art. 17) and restriction of processing (Art. 18),
  • data portability (Art. 20),
  • object to processing based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the authority responsible for our registered office: the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg (Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg), Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany.

9. Obligation to provide data, automated decisions

You are not obliged to provide us with personal data. Without the technically necessary access data, however, the website cannot be delivered. No automated decision-making, including profiling, takes place.

10. Changes

We update this privacy policy when the website or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies.
