The exact annual price has not been set yet; we will publish it here as soon as it is. Prices are net, plus statutory VAT. A one-time addition is a Mac to act as the server, if you don’t have one yet (e.g. a Mac mini).
License per server, apps free
Why only the server needs a license.
You run the server yourself – so that is exactly what gets licensed. The apps are simply ways into your server.
Simple
One price per company, one invoice a year. A license covers one server – and so one organization.
No seat counting
Nobody manages licenses per person. Switching devices or a second Mac doesn’t matter. Only the people in your company are counted.
Grow without moving
When the 4th person joins, IT enters the license key in the server app – nothing is reinstalled, no data moves.
Fits “no cloud”
The license is checked only when it is activated and when an update is fetched. Otherwise your server contacts nobody.
As of today: the model is fixed, the annual price is not. The license check in Sayfely Server has not been built yet – the current version checks no license, does not limit the number of people and has no field for a license key yet. The plan is a license key that IT enters in the server app. Until then, you can use Sayfely for free with as many people as you like.
Running costs
What comes on top – honestly calculated.
Sayfely costs one price per server and year, no matter how many people use it. The only additions are the Mac the server runs on and its electricity.
Example: three years, 25 people
- A Mac mini as the server, once: about €700
- Electricity at roughly 15 W continuous load: about €40 a year
- Three times the annual price for the server
No cost per person: when someone joins, nothing changes.
What doesn’t come on top
- no fees per person or device
- no data center, no cloud costs
- no purchased certificate
The apps are free; each person may use as many Macs as they like.
Questions about pricing and licensing
Good to know
What exactly counts as a “person”?
Each account of a person from your company on your server. Devices are never counted – each person can use as many Macs as they like. Guests in the browser have no account and don’t count.
Do the apps cost my colleagues anything?
No. The Mac apps are always free and need no license. They come straight from your own server, through its download page.
Is Sayfely really free for good for up to 3 people?
Yes. For up to 3 people Sayfely costs nothing – with no expiry date and with every feature. Security, recording, transcript and assistant are never cut back.
How do I get the license for my company?
Write to us at info@sayfely.com. The plan is a license key that IT enters in the server app – this has not been built yet, and the annual price has not been set. Until then, the server app does not limit the number of people.
What happens when the license expires?
Everything keeps running – all people, all conversations, events and recordings. There are just no more updates until the license is renewed. Nobody is locked out, and Sayfely is not switched off.
And without a license from the 4th person on?
Without a license, no 4th person can be added – the first three keep working as before. This rule applies once the license check has been built.
Do I need several licenses for several locations?
A license covers one server, and so one organization. If all locations work with the same server (e.g. via VPN), one is enough. If you look after two companies, you need two servers.
What other costs are there?
A Mac as the server, if you don’t have one yet, and its electricity. No cloud fees, no cost per device. For the nightly backup we recommend an external hard drive or a network drive.
